Perhaps I'm naive, but I didn't realise it was such a big deal in the U.S., what with having people like Condy Rice working for Bush's administration etc.

I have a real dislike of serparatist politics, be it black, gay, jewish, muslim, or whatever. People have differing political views, and lumping them together en bloc, is sad.

Re: THE ills/blindness of Black America!

I would say over here there are very large groups of block voters. Not that it's right. I see it as people just following a crowd. Whether it be the "Hispanic vote," the "conservative Christian vote," "the gay and lesbian vote," "the liberal/feminist women vote," "the profamily/prolife womens vote,""environmentalists,""Hunters/NRA" etc., etc., etc.

It seems to always come down to getting a block on your side. The silent majority are the ones typically ignored.

Finally, it is my understanding that the Bush Administration has more minorities and women than any other. However, it doesn't seem to translate into him being a friend of either womens' issues or minority issues cause the folks he picks "don't fit the mold." Of course this is not true but it's all about getting a label to stick. Once stuck with a label in America, it is very hard to shake (IMO)!

And too many more to mention here.....but may I add, Thomas Sowell, Shelby Steele, Walter Williams and Herman Cain. All people of accomplishment and decency. Yet who gets the press? Why, race pimps like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, of course.

:D :D

Read the Wall Street Journal's editorial pages on this....April 15th and 16th. Very interesting. They have the "paper trail." You can access online at www.opinionjournal.com

Just saw a note online that Jason Whitlock is to appear on "Oprah" this afternoon. Never watch her show as a rule - but this might be interesting. Glad to see that the Revs. Jackson and Sharpton have not been invited.

Don't watch her either. Much too busy for daytime t.v. and don't find much of interest after dark. By the way, have you checked out the Wall Street Journal link yet? Would like your feedback on that.

Seems to me that alot of these folks at the World Bank and also the UN would have no problems finding jobs with Blackpool Tower circus, being so adept at juggling and spining things. We have this whole new industry of 'professional' civil servants/diplomats, most of them failed politicians given jobs for life without any oversight from anyone ,wether it be the EU in Brussels/Strasbourg , the UN in New York or these quasi official policy groups in DC .
re. Wolfowitz , the problem I have here is , if as reported in the WSJ he was at a management level 4 levels above his girlfriend why was it necessary for him to sign off on her pay increase, surley this is a decision that should have been made by the ' personnell dept.' or does the chairman of the World Bank review every employee pay increase ? It seems to me we are in a situation of you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours, But and its a big but , are these folks not public employees (civil servants) and not employees of some private company where obscene salaries and bonuses are allowed at shareholders expense. Seems to me morality and ethics fly out of the window, and since when have employees of the US govt been exempt from paying taxes (the US Govt. owns 20% of the World Bank) the only exemption/tax break I know of for regular US citizens is the '510' rule where you have to be out of the country for 18 months.
Seems to me we are getting to the stage where the conspiricy theorists are right and we are heading for a new world order , but thats a subject for another day as is George Bushs decision to open up the US highways in the lower 48 to trucks from south of the border ...........;) ;)

That's true. Bush is on record as saying that his Vice-President Dick Cheney's daughter Mary, is a good mother, and she's a lesbian.

Even jump on every liberal bandwagon Clinton, couldn't claim that particular kudos.

The whole left versus right world has gone topsy-turvey.

Suprised GWB aint on a moral crusade over Cheneys daughter and the way she leads her life being an "alledged" God fearing man.

If they wobble enough they will eventually malky each other and common sense will prevail. (wishful thinking on my part)

Is there a real true definition of liberalism?

Okay, this is off topic but felt need for quick response.

See that's the very problem! You're only surprised because of what you've merely heard about our President. What you are saying (IMO) is either all "God fearing [men]" should be on a witch hunt against homosexuals. Or, since the President is not "on a moral crusade over Cheney's daughter" "lifestyle," he is not a "God fearing man?"

To clarify (IMO), truly God fearing men, fundamental Christians, Bible believing Christians believe that homosexuality is a sin. No better, no worse than any other of the thousands and thousands of things classified as sin. I feel a "true believer" would be wrong, in most instances, to classify (go on a moral crusade against) one sin over another.

In conclusion, I believe that the very fact that President Bush doesn't attack Cheney's daughter makes him more apt to be a God fearing man! (IMO)

There continues to be a slew of "selective leaks" on this story. Much too early to draw conclusions. Frankly, I long ago reached the point where I believe nothing the media reports in its initial stages.

I'd have shut down the World Bank ages ago had I the power to do so.....along with a lot of other institutions of like ilk. Gosh, wouldn't you love to be a benign dictator just for a day?

Brian

Maybe something more like "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" or "Judge not, lest ye be judged" ?
