Breast feeding lessons for men!
I don't believe it!
http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk...se_for_men.php WHat a load of cobblers! Or am I old fashioned? |
Re: Breast feeding lessons for men!
I can't believe i am going to say this but i agree, it is a load of cobblers. I have breast fed all three of my children and is still breast feed the third and there is no way would i approach a male stranger and ask for advice about breast feeding or anything to do with breast feeding and i am sure they would not want me to approach them about it either.

Re: Breast feeding lessons for men!
I agree that it is silly and a waste of money. There are some things that are just more appropriate to women and breast feeding is one of them.

Re: Breast feeding lessons for men!
I agree with you 2. I know it's nice for men to take part in Pregnancy, birth, nappy changing etc.. But breast feeding isn't something I would talk to a man about.

Re: Breast feeding lessons for men!
I too think its ridiculous, why would a caretaker or an other employee of the childrens centre need to know about positioning on the breast, ok temperature of a bottle, they may be asked to warm one up, but not make one etc. I'm still breastfeeding at the mo and wouldn't appreciate the caretaker coming to check the baby was positioned correctly:D

It's ok for the el cheapos who nurse their beer, hoping someone will buy them another one.

Re: Breast feeding lessons for men!
Although the article says that caretakers and such will be expected to know who to advise the women to see with their breastfeeding problems, I can't see many women asking the caretaker any kind of health related question. They would be more likely to ask a receptionist etc.
Men do need to know about breastfeeding and the benefits, many studies have shown that men influence their partner's choice of feeding, but I would not expect men in general to be able to position and attach a baby at the breast... I am laughing here...... My dad would run a mile if one of us asked him for that kind of help..:D :D |
