I left Liverpool in '86, so would never have seen you, but I was never away from the Everyman, both the theatre and bar, for three years, and it helped living on the same street, when it came to getting home.:D

I first saw Blood Brothers in 1983 at the Liverpool Playhouse, with Barbara Dickson playing the lead. A fantastic piece of theatre. Glad you enjoyed it.:)

Yes, it's good, isn't it ? never actually seen a professional performance though, will try and make it to Man .. thanks F.C.

Once met Willy Russell (the author) .. was the speaker at a luncheon I attended. I rushed up to him like a sad groupie asking for his authograph as my son was studying his Trilogy "Blah, Blah Blah" .. he kindly looked at me, although with a puzzled look on his face, and duly signed some scrap of paper from my handbag.

Was excited to show teenage son my prize, and he calmly explained "Mum, it isn't Willy Russell, but ....... ?" Forgotten who the hek it was now!! What a pratt I felt. :D

Got dragged along to it a few years ago , Petula Clark played the Mother and either Donny Osmond or David Cassidy played one of the sons , was a bit disapointed since I thought it was going to be about the Kray twins .

A play about the Kray's would have been called Blood Sister and his more tougher brother.;)

Can't imagine Pet Clarke doing it.

yep she opened the thing on Broadway and then took the touring version on the road all over the US , she's got to be pushing 80 by now since she was a 'child' star during WW2, but still tours , she also recently did the Gloria Swanson thing , Sunset Boulevard

She's 76 in November.

(I did look it up, not a fact I keep in my head. Unlike the birth details of Lorna Luft and her shyer half sister.:D)

Ooooh Im so glad you mentioned it, wasn't aware that it was on! Seen it at Blackpool Winter Gardens and it was fantastic! Very emotional ending. The book is also a joy to read too.

Don't believe it , no sodding way , she was 'entertaining' the troops on VE and VJ day along with Vera Lynn and Gracie Fields

I've seen Blood Brothers a few years back at the Civic Theatre in Ossy. I can't remember which group performed it now but it was excellent.
