Austrian village links up to outside world

Attached article about an isolated village in the Austrian alps which is 'finally' for better or worse being opened up to the outside world, up to now the residents have had to walk in and walk out over a mountain track, now the Tyrol state govt. has decided to dig a road tunnel to allow access
( I'm still trying to figure out the bit about the 180 bend in the tunnel)

Question , how do you think you would like to live in a place like this ? I suppose I could hack it if I didn't know anything different , but these folks have had access to the outside world still stayed on. What amazes me is that this village is in the middle of 21st centuary Europe not hidden away in some 3rd world shangri-la

very suprised, also very interesting, never would have dreamt there was such a place ( in europe) i know i,d have been long gone from there,no-way i could hack that life.

Sounds like heaven to me too. Sometimes i think its better to be ignorant to the outside world considering everything thats going on in it.

Well, the residents of Ossy have had access to the rest of the world via Union Road for the past 200 years; they still live in the dark ages though.
