House/Car Key Cover

At work I have been presented with a new Scheme by a Insurance Company, which in brief covers your keys.

For £10.00 they issue you with One Tag, This tag goes onto your bunch of keys and covers against Loss, Theft and Damage to ALL the keys on the bunch.

The Yearly Limit of Clains is £1500.

And Even goes to the extent of covering

3 days Hire car Cover if you are stranded due to losss of keys.

A reward given to the finder of your keys (£10).

The Is No Policy Excess

Also If you do not have a spair key they will also replace the locks on either a car or the home.

IMO £10.00 isnt to bad, but do we NEED all this extra cover.

What are your thoughts, Im undesided whether to start to plug this extra cover.

mi dad lost his car keys last year, it was one of those electronic things and he didnt have a spare, it cost him £175 just to have a key specially made for the car,its not an electronic one, just a bog standard car key...so YES i do think you need the extra cover

I've seen something like that years ago on a bunch of keys with a reward offered.

I used to have one about 20 years ago. It was a company in Rochdale who ran it and it cost about £5 a year.

So it seems like a good Idea.

BUT would you pay £10 for it as thats the crunch factor.

This was my main reason for getting the product in, I know my key for a Vectra cost £150 + as it needs to be reprogrammed.

They also Change your locks if your keys are stolen and there is evidence the thieves know where you live.:)

We have Simon, our very own AccyWeb locksmith on here you know. He does house and car keys. He programmed a car key for me recently. He also showed me how easy it was to unlock my car with his special gizmo, if you have the skill that is ;). I think he can program almost all car keys with only a few odd exceptions.

He posted a while back about how easy it is to get in through many UPVC plastic doors. He showed me a pick yesterday that amazed me, all I will say is that if you have a plastic door with a thumb turn knob on the inside that locks and unlocks the door instead of having to use the key then you need to contact Simon and have it changed .
