He liked it, not a lot.
I remember reading in early 1997 that if New Labour came to power Paul Daniels was going to leave the country, and become a tax exile in protest.
Infact just the opposite has happened, and the newly rich Russian billionaires, and others, weighed down with mega wealth, are clamouring to live in Britain. What happened? Come on Paul and the lovely Debbie McGee, I'm still waiting to wave you off. |
Re: He liked it, not a lot.

Re: He liked it, not a lot.
On a more serious note, all the fears the rich used to have about socialism seemed to have vanished. The rich have got even richer in the last ten years, and new money has been attracted by the relatively appealing tax system we have.
I suppose one of the answers to all this is that New Labour hasn't got much more than a passing aquaintance with socialism:D (Funniest thing read last week- What will be Blair's legacy to the nation? Answer David Cameron.) |
Re: He liked it, not a lot.
