New Spy In The Sky.

No doubt you will have seen the news last night about the latest innovation for catching miscreants in the act. The new ‘toy’ helicopter that can see what is going on and send the view to a computer and a controlling police officer who can also see what the ‘copter sees.

Weighing in at around 2 pounds (Oh! OK then! Just under a kilogram) and claimed to be virtually silent this Spy In The Sky can be positioned up to 500 metres from its control and look down as we citizens go about our normal lives. Watch out litterbugs. That casually thrown away toffee wrapper (or fag end) has been spotted and is now undisputable visual evidence.

The police try to justify this latest ‘Big Brother’ technology by suggesting that with it they can spot trouble developing before it gets too serious and send in the ‘force’ to deal with it. So can a copper on the beat!!!

I wonder, has it not occurred to the ‘clever’ police chiefs that the ‘copter can be brought down quite simply and they would never know ‘who dun it’ unless they actually caught them in the act.

It is radio controlled and radio signals can be swamped.

Failing that maybe it is time to join a radio controlled aero club, build a Spitfire, learn to fly it and tally-ho!

How handy, more officers sat inside at their desks instead of doing something constructive.

Scrap the idea, scrap the paperwork that needs to be done after speaking with somebody, scrap all the bureaucracy, scrap the stupid targets...

Let the police, police.

We are the most watched nation on Earth, with all these CCTV cameras, but who, if anyone, is watching it?

No one is.The Great British worker who is supposed to be watching will be doing what British workers do best - drinking tea

Well then we should perhaps tender out the work to some poor third world country, for them to watch.:D

'Hello? Is that the Lancashire Constabulary?'

'Mumbai calling here.'

'We have an IC one youth kicking a can in the Springhill area.'
