Re: New Skoda Advert
What is the difference between a Skoda car and a Jehovas Witness?. You can shut the door on a Jehovas Witness.:D

It just shows you to be religiously intolerant towards others beliefs. It also shows you have no idea about current car build quality as Skoda now make excellent cars. |

Re: New Skoda Advert
Its great. There was some facts about it in the paper:
How to bake a car: the amazing story behind Skoda's new TV ad | the Daily Mail Oh and the real car cost £7,900. The cake one: £500,000!!! and the staff who made it got to eat it. Then it went to production crew etc... |
Re: New Skoda Advert
It is a good ad....
|
Re: New Skoda Advert
So that is what this thread was about, it just goes to show how little some of us watch television. Good advert that is, my next door neighbour has a prety modern dented Skoda, I think he would be better off eating it than driving about, either that or a new set of glasses. Sorry Frances but you are a little accident prone.:D

Re: New Skoda Advert
Very cleaver marketing.
That Skoda Cake Ad | Road Tests, Auto Features It would appear though most was not edible and was composted. Then Again I wouldnt fancy eating a cake thats been in a shop window in the sun for a week. |
Re: New Skoda Advert
A good job it wasnt edible think of the calories in it. At least it was zero CO2 emmisions and was recycled. :D

Re: New Skoda Advert
I think its a brilliant ad really well thought up.. thought they would have donated it to worthy cause....
|
Re: New Skoda Advert
And the remaining question - what happened to the cake? Barker says they looked at donating it to charity, but by the time the cake had been in the studio and under the lights during construction it was not thought fit for human consumption. It ended up in a compost heap - though the chocolate speedometer and marzipan wing mirrors were, reportedly, kept for posterity.
This is an enormous amount of trouble to go to for an advert - some estimates say that it cost £500,000 to make; one newspaper pointed out the comparative value of a Skoda (the advert costs 62 times as much). BBC NEWS | Magazine | No piece of cake |
Re: New Skoda Advert

Re: New Skoda Advert
I was on my way to work this morning when I had an accident with a Skoda. Am not happy. I'm full of jam, cream and jelly.
|
Re: New Skoda Advert
You've got to think of this £500,000 cake in comparison to the cost of other ads - things filmed on location in exotic places for example.
Incidentally I'm puzzled that they used the gone off cake as compost. I was always told that cooked food cannot be composted and that it only serves to attract vermin. |
Re: New Skoda Advert
who honestly gives a rats? its a great advert, love it, couldnt careless how much it cost or who eats the thing.:p

Re: New Skoda Advert
