A German woman in Dusseldorf blocked the entrance to an underground station when she mistook it for a subterranean car park, police said on Wednesday. The 52-year-old drove her Volkswagen Beetle across the pavement and into the entrance, where it came to a halt five steps down.
Police estimated the damage to the station at around 1,500 euros (£1,000).

I was on the M6 one day when I avoided a motorist batting down the outside lane in the wrong direction hotly pursued by a police car. The driver was a fellah. Admittedly he was, by the look of him, about 90 years old but he was definitely male.

Not all women drivers are puddled, some of us are quite sane and not-bad-drivers. I would not dare to be anything else as I was taught to drive by my late husband who would come back and haunt me if I didn't drive well. And I have the greatest accolade of all - from my son who drives a lorry for a living (he says it's like being paid for a hobby, he loves his job) - he says I'm a good driver, what more can I say? :rolleyes:

Take pity on the poor woman who drove into the station - and send her to the opticians without delay. :D

Several months ago, an Elderly Kingston woman managed to drive over herself. She parked the car, but left it in drive. When she walked in front of the car to go into a store, it moved forward and drove over her leg.

And a Kingston man, driving a compact car managed to get it sideways in a car wash.

That is a very clever manoeuvre and he should be congratulated on his parking skills. I don't think I could do it. ;)
