Bloody vandals .... we heard glass smashing around here in Dill Hall / Church area last night as well.

If you have a bit of a descrption, go ahead and share it with your Accywebbers. Maybe they can help find the cretins. Then, based on the lack of response by the coppers, go with the eye for an eye (IMO). They do this cause they can get away with it!

To be honest, a broken window is hardly going to be a priority for the police. What did you expect them to do at that time of the morning? Crimes like this are hardly ever solved, as they are often one off events, done on the spare of the moment.

An eye for an eye? Ultimately the whole world could end up blind.

I'd like to say I hope they catch and punish whoever did it but the cynic in me says don't hold your breath. The vandal who smashed our shed was never caught.

So Willow, any and every time we are vandalized, stolen from, raped pillaged, murdered, assaulted, we should beg the courts and/or authorities to not do anything. Or, if they choose not to protect us, we should not only give away our cloak but also our possessions, children, freedom to the violators. What then would the world become? I believe the bullies and evil doers would run even more a muck then they do now!

I my opinion, these type of things do not fall under a mere "Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged!" I believe it is very clear (again IMO) that we are clearly told to "purge The Evil From Your Midst." If the authorities choose not to do this then who should?

I for one hope that any and all of these type of perps are arrested tried and put away.

I don't believe that we should ever take the law into our own hands. I believe that we should work with the law and that if the law isn't working then we should seek to reform the law.

Please don't twist my words Brian - I never said that we should beg the courts to do nothing. We need to be able to distinguish between justice and revenge.

Purge evil from our midst? Certainly - but I think we've got another case here of reading the same words and seeing a different meaning. Remember when I said I read about Jesus praying to his Father and saying "Thy will be done" how to me that distinctly shows the existence of two people and yet to you it doesn't? Well, to me purging evil from our midst means an individual responsibility to teach those amongst us to purge evil from ourselves so that we have 'no more desire to do evil but to do good continually'.

One of our church's articles of faith states:

"We believe in being subject to Kings, Presidents, rulers and magistrates; in obeying, honouring and sustaining the law." I would rather live in a society which followed that line than one which was run by vigilantes.
