Is a panopticians better than an ordinary opticians? Then, tell me if you find one. I could do with a new pair of contact lenses, as I've noticed that all the action at the Coppice End is just a blur at the moment (although that may well be a blessing in disguise). ;)

Re: panopticians

If you mean panopticons they are supposed to be so successful in attracting people to the towns where they have been plonked that rather than us having to tell you where they are, their very existence should speak for itself.

In their defence, I went to see the Singing Ringing Tree and I really enjoyed it. The creation was ok, but the surroundings were magnificent. I used to work on Manchester Road in Burnley ( many years ago) and never went to Crown Point. I didn't know what I was missing.

Re: panopticians

Just a question -

If this website is still going in ten years time and I'm still posting on it - am I forever going to be linked with the panopticons? :)

Re: panopticians

I should imagine so, probably even in 20 years time! :D

I had some fun explaining all about them to someone at work last week. Ended up on the net at work showing her the website. Oh and by the way we can see the halo from our front door!!!

Re: panopticians

The lighting will be installed by late July / possibly first week in August. There'll be a few weeks of testing when it won't be on every night and then the launch in mid Sept.

Re: panopticians

I'll be away in August so it will probably end up being September before I see it anyway. Unless we go up that way again for some reason before I go.
