Farmyard For Town Centre

Looks like they have realised the chavs are here to stay in the town centre, they want to make them feel more at home :D

ACCRINGTON town centre could be redeveloped to include a working farmyard and a huge fountain, if students get their way.

Is this anything to do with those student ideas we saw on the market last year? Some of them were excellent and the idea of capitalising on some town centre greenery was one of my favourite themes - but a farm????? And as for the huge fountain, did anyone ever see the amount of rubbish dumped in the one outside Scaitcliffe house before it was reinvented as a memorial garden?

Why is it that when presented with some absolutely wonderful ideas HBC always seems to go for the daftest?

The students from last year have been working with some pupils from Moorhead. I went to the presentation yesterday and there were about 30 ideas put forward - some of them brilliant, some of them practical and some of them downright daft. Of course, we won't get a farm in the town centre - it was just an exercise in the students letting their creativity go wild.

Typical of course that the papers picked up that one.

Some were excellent ideas that hopefully will get considered.

I hope we do get one which incorporates some of the open greenery or even opens up some more.

Some of them were brilliant and showed just what the town could look like with a bit of imagination and daring.
