Do people come on accyweb for a good arguement?
 

just seems like it over the last few months

that people postin and creating topics just to do an argument etc

there's so much personal baggage people are bringing on here and its gettin less and less enjoyable

esp some of them seem to aiming to get personal

Most of us like the debate element - sometimes agreeing with the people that we're disagreeing with in another thread - but it's when it gets personal that it all disintegrates.

There are some people who will make a joke out of anything but when you're new to the forum it's hard to see whether it's a joke or an insult. So often new members get offended or insulted by comments made to them and they take it personally then get defensive and sometimes insulting.

When I joined I had a couple of run ins with a few people because I didn't 'get' them - unfortunately now I do and often dream back to those halcyon days when I was unsullied by this forum. :D

forums were created to share opinions on different topics and current issues. they were designed to discuss and in some cases debate.

the things that go on here are really light compared to some other forums. Your lucky accyweb is a small forum compared to international ones, THEY get loads of really heated arguments and its much worse.

I much prefer Accy Web to other local forums, were the most heated topics of the day seem to be what they've all had for tea, or why their day is so rubbish.:D

Mani mate its a forum, thats what happens lol, things n people come n go, i argue with many people on some things n agree with the same folk on others,its called "life":)

I've also noticed it takes some a while to kinda get used to what Accyweb is about. Hence I've seen members adjust how they come across.

(LOL) I remember there used to be this guy, let's call him Mr. Merlot, who was always getting himself in trouble. He seemed to relish it. Man did he used to tick people off. LOL

However, he has now become a gentle kitty kat. Sharing his message of peace, love, and understanding! So, there is hope for all eh?

Lol larger forums are definatly worse, and as a young student i'm a member of LOADS lol for allsorts of different things. I've recently joined a student one and there are much worse arguments going on there and you wouldnt know where to start, they have a thread for everything and anything.

I'm also part of a reptile forum and they whinge and whinge and are really difficult to explain simple things to, like why you cant steal someones dog just because you think its right :rolleyes:

Those are my biggest two forums at the moment. The student one is massive though and hugely international, and if u think i'm an opinionated student you shout meet some of them lol. I'm quiet on forums compared to some of them!

Lol they have an 'off-topic' thread where they whinge about the same type of stuff as this forum actually.

I dont recall saying anything about me personally feeling the student forum was more attractive either Ian, I said they are very popular as they are for STUDENTS, which is an international audience, where as Accy, isnt quite so international. If you have a problem with me please feel free to relieve yourself to me via PM, please dont try to start an argument here. Your just making yourself look desperate for action.

Just think how boring it would be if we all agreed.

I enjoy the debates on here, the flaming and trolling is uncalled for and just downright nasty. If you disagree with someones point of view then answer that don't go making personal comments or such as that just means you have lost the argument.

BTW Wynonie loved the reptile comment...... brilliant.
