Passport Help
A request from an absent ( ish ) member. We have the predicament lots of people of have about getting passports signed by a pillar of society, without paying through the nose !!
May seem a bit cheeky but if anyone is one of these pillars of society and knows Mel, any chance you could help her out please :D |
Re: Passport Help
I can't remember who signed mine, but looking through the list of people who can countersign the application, I bet your best bet is your local councillor. When I've had to contact them in the past, they have always been very helpful, and hopefully they won't charge you for their paw print.:D

Re: Passport Help
I'm sure Lettie or Margaret P. would sign for you if you pm them.

Re: Passport Help
Surprisingly enough I am one of those so called pillars. (there are more of us than you think).
Don't know Mel though sorry. |

Re: Passport Help
Glad it is sorted Lancsdave...
It's true.... I am one of those pillars :D Maybe next time eh...:) |
Re: Passport Help
What are people charging to do this? I can sign a passport as, like Stanaccy, I am a Civil Servant and I've done it many times. It would never enter my head to ask for money. I think I've missed out on a lucrative sideline there. :D

Re: Passport Help
The pillar who signed mine was my "Daddy" at our wedding. He's a banker.

Re: Passport Help
Quite a big list of accepted countersigners. Can even sign it myself.

Re: Passport Help
How come any Christian Science practitioner but only ministers of other recognised religions? That's a weird one.
|
Re: Passport Help
There were a few occupations on that list that I wasn't aware could sign passports. For example,I would never have thought that the optician was one of them.
|
Re: Passport Help
According to that list I "could possibly" sign em too but I wouldn't sign Accymels, she's enough trouble in this country without letting her loose abroad :D
I'm safe, she's not on to reply, maybe this will tempt her back eh :D |
Re: Passport Help
My brother and sister-in-law are retired opticians and I'm a soon-to-be retired Civil Servant. Does this mean that we are/will be no longer Pillars?
B*gger! How the Mighty are fallen. :yelrotflm |
