Re: Why read the Harry Potter books
I'm a Pratchett fan too and I won't go so far as to say the word plagiarism but........Unseen University/Hogwarts, wizards, magic?
No, Harry Potter doesn't cut it for me. I tried reading the first one and didn't finish it. We have the films on DVD and parts of them amuse me but the rest bores me. I should say, however, that, as we speak, my daughter is engrossed in the latest one. She's 31! |
Re: Why read the Harry Potter books
Oddly enough some years ago someone recommended Terry Pratchett to me and I just couldn't get into those books at all although I have watched some that has been filmed. I suppose it all comes down to personal taste and it certainly would be a boring old world if everyone liked the same thing.

Re: Why read the Harry Potter books
I got into reading the Harry Potter books by accident. I had bought one for my, then, 10 year old sister and wanted to make sure that it was suitable for her. I have loved reading them ever since and am now reading the last one.. I didn't queue for it though, I picked it up at WHS yesterday afternoon.:D
