that was nice but ironic
on the way home tonight I listened to an album I probably haven't listened to for ~20 years. It was a rather surreal time taking me back to days at Uni.
What was ironic is that it was Billy Bragg's "Talking o the Taxman about poetry" and considering this is an evangelical socialist singing about a then well established Tory goverment the words were SO applicable today. For those who have never heard it or any Billy Bragg I highly recommend it as both political ravings and enjoyable music. PS I also enjoyed a bit of original; Adam and teh Ants as well! |

Can imagine you in a Adam Ant get up while out on the town at weekends complete with hairdo and makeup.:p

Re: that was nice but ironic
I grew up on Billy Bragg and saw the man a few times over the years.
Talking o the Taxman about poetry is a cracking album and as you say, it's probably as applicable today as it's ever been. Artists such as Bragg taught me alot about politics and competing ideologies. Where do today's youth learn about such things? |
