[quote=garinda;453978]In response to a letter in this week's Observer, I felt compelled to write to the paper for the first time since 1981.

Have you used your real name or are you 'Disgruntled, from Oswaldtwistle' or something like that?lol:D

Lol, no, my real name.

Not that hopeful that it'll be published, for some reason the Observer don't seem that keen on metioning Accy Web, the best we usually manage is 'a local forum'.

Well better start drumming it into the numpties that this is the local forum and you could mention that the writing on here is far superior to some of the drivil they come out with. ;)

Yes, and this forum is better for news of local events and happenings too...by the time things get in the Observer they have whiskers on them.
I don't know why I buy the blooming thing......scared of missing something I suppose......and the letters are always worth a read.

I still buy it, But to be honest I'm sick to death of reading cases before the bloody bench!!

Every single page is cases before the bench!!! (( and i usually know quite a few people )):)

Even the local news (like for Clayton/Ossy etc) is skanky. I think it only sells for the property section....i think the Observer would sink without a trace if they decided to sell just the property section

M.P.'s are all the same......full of c**p when it comes election time-they want to speak to you then.Once elected, you'd have more luck finding the goose that laid the golden egg!!!
Thank yourselves lucky, I've got Jack Straw to deal with. I'd get more sense out of the hound!!!! :):):)

As stated, or M.P. Greg Pope, uses this forum as one way to speak to us.

Maybe you should listen to that hound more. A friend of mine had a problem with a visa for America. Jack Straw sorted it out with one phone call for him.

Re: Greg Pope's accessibility.

M.P.s should be accessible, and in my experience are.

Not to show political bias, I've mentioned on here before how Ken Hargreaves helped me get some money back I was owed by Liverpool City Council, and I was very grateful.

I just didn't see the point of a letter to the Observer saying that Greg was somehow less accessible than Ken had been, besides trying to score cheap political points. Well two can play that game, but I only deal in facts, not daft tales about tracks on Park Lane to Ken's front door.:D
