GlynnWeb on fire NOW!

Lots of fire engines about.. smoke everywhere. I think they caught it early enough this time. Probaly wont burn to the ground.

Getting back from town on the bus was a nightmare.
I paid 65p to end up walking miles an loaded down with bags.
Ended up having to walk from near bubble factory.
I was not impressed.

glasgow guy 12-02-2004 20:27

so is it still on fire ??
I mentioned to my wife that it was on fire and she said 'again' !!

Sara 12-02-2004 20:28

Never seen as many hunky men in uniform as i did earlier on. Can still smell the fire, they seem to have a lot of bad luck.

Roy 13-02-2004 04:04

come on people, where are the pictures?? did it burn to the ground again?

KIPAX 13-02-2004 08:56

As mentioned. Mostly smoke. The shop doesn't close until 7 or after surely? All this started before 7 so it looks like people already there and caught in time. However large crane onsite and parts of roof where being thrown down into skip.

Probably more smoke damage than fire damage. Bit of a non event for spectators. Uness you like hunky men in uniforms. I don't .

Nice..

piccy's of the new witherspoons pub, Mick......

Roy 13-02-2004 16:05

thanks for the pics!! and you lot who keep suggesting insurance jobs... get real! glynnweb are a national chain of stores, and after the first fire they spent more on building a new store. Do you really think a large company like glynnweb would actually do something like this to themselves? Places catch fire, it doesn't automatically mean it is an insurance job - fire is very unpredictable. Try looking at life in a more realistic way - a business like glynwebb would certainly not do anything like that..
