The Great Tree pub (near Winfields)
 

Does anyone know what is going on with this old pub. Over the last couple of weeks it has been painted and has had new boards put over the windows. Is it being re-vamped? I understand that it belongs to the Winfield family, maybe they are re-opening it.

Dunno but I was always suprised to see it shut; you would have thought it to be a very profitable place ,providing a refuge for those who hate shopping whilst their other halves got on with it ! If they did bar snacks and such it could make a tidy profit.

Heard a rumour today dont know if its true or not but supposedly being opened up again seeing as the rising bridge inn is shut and now the spice room.

Food wise lindsay dont forget winfields has its own cafe in there.

Yeah but that's far too near the shoe shopping "Experience" for me ; I would rather have a pint and a sarnie out of the way !:D
