ive only been on aCCYWEB SINCE JULY (I THINK ) but already most people annoy me its nothing personal against any body but why do people write messages on thread that have absolutley nothing to do with the thread posted then people will have conversations between the other posts that are about the thread it confuses me and annoys me sometimes

You can't please all of the people all of the time.

Some people get annoyed when people start threads when there are already threads on that particular subject.

yep , have to agree , its a bit like when someone asks a daft inane question like " doe s any body know who sheena easten is im dieing to find out ? " when all you have to do is click on wikipedia , and the answer is there for all the world to see. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Often I find that 'thread wanders' and 'off topic' postings can be the most entertaining bits of a thread. Just like real life conversations -it happens here too.

The simple answer to this is to REPORT it press the REPORT button and leave a message for the mods .

I agree with Margaret, threads are like conversations, they start off as one thing and often evolve into something completely different. Its teh way us humans work

I chose the most charming, likable, clean, comedian who happened to send up people my age by doing drag in curlers.
I find that it has cut down the 'flack' tremendously ;)

Like most people on here, I plead guilty to the crime....but like most others have said....that is the nature of a conversation in real life.
I treat thread wanders a bit like a sauce with a meal....it adds colour, taste(sometimes) and makes the whole experience more enjoyable....some of the topics would be deadly if not for the lightening effect of a thread wander......and as Mick has said, if you do find it annoying beyond all reason....then you can always report the post.

Personally there are other, more pressing things in my life to get annoyed about...remember this is not 'real' life.

Let's imagine a thread and call it, say, "Accrington is quite near Blackburn". No one's allowed to thread-wander or go off at a tangent, right? So, 15 replies say, "Yes, it is", and 1, whose geography leaves a lot to be desired, says, "No it isn't". End of topic - scintillating stuff.

Garinda's right.We all have our own personal bugbears.Mine is poor spelling/punctuation in posts but I realise it's not a strong point for some people so I wouldn't pass comment.A thread is like a conversation,ie a comment here,a joke there and we're soon back on topic.As Westender said,it would indeed be a dull site if we stuck rigidly to the thread title.For example,someone asks for tips on losing weight.After person one has replied eat less and person two has replied get more exercise,without being allowed to deviate at all,what else is there to say? Threads would only be about 3 posts long!
Get yourself a sense of humour and have a laugh.Go on,startle yourself and make a witty remark.I'm sure you've got one in you somewhere.:D

Ah right lol:D. I get you now. I hadn't realised before that it seems to be de rigeur to leave spaces after full stops when typing on a forum. I suppose it does look better like this doesn't it? It makes it a bit easier to read.Cheers guys:D:D

When typing, it's proper to leave 2 spaces between a full stop and the start of the next sentence. ;)

I was just thinking that - someone else who learnt to type at school/college.
Dont forget the 5 spaces indent or a second enter when beginning a new paragraph!!!! lol :D:D:D

My spelling is lousy my punctuation is well ropey to say the least. As for typing I aint a clue apart from the buttons put up what I want. As for spacing etc on a keyboard spacing etc I didnt take typing classes so aint got a clue. :o

I still use my old RSA learnt typing of 2 spaces but when you're typing for newsprint or any sort of print these days the norm is 1 space (because these clever computery type things do the additional spacing for you). It's force of habit with me to do 2 so the designers that I use have to spend ages sifting out all my double spacing.

I'll teach you to type Lilly. Its easy!!! This is how i learnt jjj fff jfj, ddd kkk dkd, sss lll sls, aaa ;;; a;a etc keep on repeating it until you've learnt the keyboard and then learn how to use the shift keys etc. :D

Does that work when you can only type with one finger on your non-dominant hand?

I think I'll stick with my one digit tapping, which is suprisingly quick now. It got better when I used to go in the chatroom. You had to be sharpish in there, otherwise you never got a word in edge ways with all you women.:D

Well seeing as you use 8 fingers and one thumb when typing - i'll get you using both hands rindy - just you wait and see :D:D:D

You never had any problems in the chatroom - in fact sometimes you managed to beat us to it so i wouldnt be surprised if you have had typing lessons anyway either that or something else that uses 2 hands ........ :D:D:D
