Re: Yea....Well Done Alec. 12 GCSE's
Does off to college really mean off? As in you move into a dormitory type setting for a couple of years? What percentage of England's youth actually move to a college? If not, how do you get back and forth?

Alec will be going to the local college, so I presume he will live at home. Normally you move 'off' to college or university after the age of eighteen, though you can still study at local colleges or universities, then you wouldn't have to go 'off' at all. I myself, happily went 'off' in 1983.:D I suspect it's as clear as mud now, or a pint of milk that's gone 'off'.:D |
Re: Yea....Well Done Alec. 12 GCSE's
Hi Brian
Alecs chosen to go to the next town, Blackburn to continue his studies. Its only a 20 minute bus ride away. Accrington and Rossendale college did offer Alec a place but not on the course he wanted as they had an issue with his weight. As Blackburn said today ...Their loss is our gain.... :D |

So sorry for all the questions but I do need to ask, "his weight?" This kept him from getting into his college of choice? Kinda hoping "weight" means something different then his physical weight. Brian |
