kids and little white lies
 

just had a phone call from the secretary at Reece's school
i know her personally so we are on first name terms

it went like this .....



secretary... 'hi Shanida its Denise from school'

me ..'hiya Denise whats wrong?'

secretary...'has Reece's dad had a heart attack?'

me...'pardon?'

secretary...'Reece was a bit upset yesterday in school and he said this morning that you recieved a letter yesterday saying his dad was very ill and had just had a heart attack'

me...*starts laughing* 'no Denise as far as i know his dad hasnt had a heart attack, he hasnt seen him or heard from him for well over 12 months'

secretary...'oh, thats what he told his new teacher today'

me... *still laughing* 'i think he must be trying it on with his new teacher, i'll kill him when he gets home'

secretary...*starts laughing too* 'ok, just wanted to make sure everything was alright, i'll let his teacher know'

me...'ok Denice, i'll be having words with him when he gets home, thanx for letting me know'

secretary...*still laughing* 'yes i think that would be a good idea, thankyou, goodbye'


i know i shouldnt still be laughing, but i am, was it Reece and a bit of wishful thinking or what?
i'll ask him when he gets home why he felt he had to tell lies, and what was the real problem behind why he was upset


have your little one's ever told any white lies like that? and did you ever get to the bottom of the problem? :D

On sunday there was shout from the bathroom from Zack "can I use the scissors?" Chris shouted back up "what for?" Zack then shouted down "it's ok, I've found them" to which Chris bounded up the stairs seconds before Zack hacked into his hair. Chris grabbed the scissors and asked what was going on to which Zack replied that he didn't like the hair gel because it was sticky and so he was cutting it out. When we dug a bit deeper it turned out that he'd originally tried to wash it out with about three handfuls of soap but no water, so it was of course, very messy.

He was put into the shower and the scissors were returned to a higher shelf!

My friends daughter once told her teacher that her Dad had died, she was about 10 at the time, my friend wondered what was going on when everyone was offering their condolences:D

My daughter told her teacher at preschool that her Grandma had been eaten by a crocodile ! Oddly enough they believed her and I was asked about it when I picked her up....... Kels would have been about 3 at the time and was an avid Steve Irwin fan ! :eek:

Oh dear, I don't know about the children but I can remember doing it myself when I was about 7. :o

Both sets of my grandparents had died before I was born and I felt a bit left out when other kids were going on about theirs so I decided to invent a grandpa. I told everyone at school he was coming to stay with us for the weekend and how lovely he was, etc., etc. The teacher overheard me and asked me where he lived and how old he was. In my panic I said he lived in Australia and was 110. I think she twigged! :rolleyes:

Anyway, it taught me a lesson. No more little white whoppers. :D

I remember in primary once i told a few friends that my dad was a bank robber, and he got shot in the head and died. (Never known my dad so it could be true lol).
