New Arndale Cafe
Anyone tried the Earl Grey ? Quite enjoy that brand but at £1.50 I went home for a brew.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
Been past it today, and saw it was open for buisness. I refuse to pay that much for a brew, when I only live round the corner, but I did notice that they have benches outside the barriers, so that people can still sit and chat for free.

Re: New Arndale Cafe
I noticed it was open when I whent passed but I must say I wasnt in the least bit impressed.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
Didn't realise it had opened. Is it just a coffee/tea stand, or a cafe?
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
It looks like a little cafe, they had cake type things on display, and a very starbucksy type coffee machine.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
Thats what they call a Cappuchino machine, Lettie.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
They sell cake and buttys don't know if they do JAM buttys though
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
If a cup of tea is £1.50, then a jam butty will probably be about 10 quid.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
There coffee is over two quid a cup. Why they think we need another cafe in there is beyond me.
Bring back the clock. |
Re: New Arndale Cafe
why get rid of the clock. been away for years and cant believe they have got rid of it. heard it had been broken for a couple of years. i loved that clock.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
where is the clock now? Languishing in the town hall vaults, waiting for antiques roadshow to visit and deem it priceless?
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
the idea was tto repair it not destroy it hehe..

You wouldn't mind as much if it was a decent cuppa - I don't think I've ever had a cup of tea at one of those types of cafes that was actually good. Can't really comment on the coffee but I expect the same goes. |
Re: New Arndale Cafe
what a waste. remember when they first opened it. where is santas grotto going to go this year.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
Santa's Grotto will be on one of them empty shops on Broadway...what do you think they're there for? All Christmas Pressy's will be a quid.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
lol is the food gud at the cafe?
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
hope you are right. christmas will be a whole lot cheaper if everything is a quid. unless you're on about the ones father christmas is giving them when they meet him. you seem very knowledgable in the ways of santa. are you one of his little helpers.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
:rose8: Came home at cristmas and couldnt belive the price of a brew in Accy, here in the states you get free refills of tea, coffee and soft drinks even at starbucks.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
I'm not surprised it's free in the States.....how anybody can pay good money for junk food is beyond me.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
I never got free refills at Starbucks in Hong Kong last year, although you do get them at Pizza Hut in Manchester. I think the new Arndale cafe looks really cheap and nasty, and personally wouldn't be seen dead in there.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
I've never seen free refills at Starbucks in the UK...as for the cafe in the Arndale, it looks like it's made of last years stock from the back warehouse of the Do It All DIY store.
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
lol lat years stock
|
Re: New Arndale Cafe
