Belly button piercing - no thanks

When you see kids with their belly button pierced you never think of this do you?

BBC NEWS | Wales | South East Wales | Belly stud 'almost killed teen'

I never thought of that happening. I know my niece had hers pierced but when she was pregnant she took it out and didnt replace it. But you never think of something like this being in a car accident and the seat belt doing its job.

Re: Belly button piercing - no thanks

Many of her pals have removed them but sadly many other girls wont. It is seen as trendy and fashionable and like all youngsters and no doubt some older ones inc males they will carry on wearing them. It may be seen as a freak accident but could happen again and again and again.

Elaborate please Cashy:)

How frightening is that, I'm not keen on belly button piercings looks far too painful for me but never thought they could cause that level of injury either.

Saw the most pierced woman on a daytime programme last week, you couldn't see her face gor studs, I think they said she had 5 thousand, she has the Guinness world record anyway.

I see people at work who have there lips pierced a month later its been taken out, I had my ear pierced 30 years ago ,and I have never worn one for about 29 and a half years, but I know I can still slip one through if I tried, are these people going to be left with permanent holes. dribbling from there lips will they ever be able to whistle.

Body piercing is a variation of 'self mutilation' and is a sign of mental problems.

They would be better of having acupuncture. If they want to look like a walking metal ore then thats ok by me. Though will never understand a piercing in the some what delicate areas on both male n female it seems pointless and a bit of a hazard.

Re: Belly button piercing - no thanks

I'd never have thought it could be so dangerous. Never liked them anyway though. I have 3 holes in each ear but only use one pair.

I have a thing about tatoos as well.....I know a lot of people like them ,AND EACH TO THEIR OWN But when someone has them all over their body it gives me the creeps,,

BERNADETTE 02-10-2007 20:21

Re: Belly button piercing - no thanks

I don't mind a couple of tatoos but too many look horrible.

No tattoos for me. Think what they would look like at the age of 85.
