Happy Thanksgiving.

This is our Thanksgiving weekend. It's a lot like a harvest festival, a time when we get together with friends and family, eat a massive turkey with all the trimmings, followed by pumpkin pie, and give thanks for all the good things we have.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. :)

It's our Harvest Festival this weekend, well at least in our village. My daughter and the Brownies, including granddaughter, are on Church Parade on Sunday so let's hope it doesn't pour with rain (it's delugeing at the moment). We don't make enough of Harvest Festival, in my opinion, it would be a nice break before Christmas. Anyway, I couldn't have made a pumpkin pie this year, mine failed due to the awful weather and the papers say most of the commercially grown ones haven't ripened and are still green. :(

I don't know if it is available in the UK, but you can buy cans of prepared pumpkin pie filling. Not quite the same as making your own; but in a pinch, it does the job. Put lots of whipped cream or ice cream on top.:D

Being fortunate enough to live in Canada or England or the US, we have lots to be thankful for. We are free and prosperous. Most of the rest of the world is not so lucky.

I've used canned pumpkin in the past, Eric. My American friend brought a couple of cans back from the States for me but I'm not sure it's available in shops here.

Anyway, enjoy your meal. :)

The Americans celebrate the arrival of the Pilgims in the Mayflower ... We celebrate the beginning of the hockey season, after a long summer without mayhem on ice:D:D:D
