Just How Easily It Can Happen!!!
I am just posting this as a warning to everyone about the dangers of fire and children combined. It will be four years in a few weeks since I got a phone call off my daughter. She was at Blackburn Royal with my grandson who had burnt himself badly. To cut a long story short he had got hold of a cigarette lighter and set fire to his clothes. He was treated at Alder Hey and is okay now apart from the scars. He had never shown any interest in lighters/fire before this so I came to the conclusion that the warnings at scool about bonfire night had got him curious. I just want to warn everybody how quick these things happen and urge you to be extra vigilant as bonfire night approaches. My daughter would not go to the press with her story at first for fear of being judged as a bad mum. She did eventually tell her story as I said it would serve as a warning to others. So please be extra careful where you leave your cigarette lighter if you smoke. Curiousity might kill if it were to happen again.

A very wise warning. It sounds like your grandson was a very lucky boy but it must have been terrifying at the time.
