Re: The Accrington Observer PRAT.
Something about the letter saying Paradise Street should be renamed for the Pals.
|
Re: The Accrington Observer PRAT.
Oh that reminds me - I saw a notice in Peel House today saying that the health centre is being named after the Pals Bernie.

Re: The Accrington Observer PRAT.
Look in the observer letters page you know they only print letters from prats like prat and that bloke next door to me they even gave him a meal for 2 at the calder, tried and trusted letters page is what I call it. This bloke want's to change name the of Paradisest to sierre st, I think Paradise St is right and proper name because that's where they were sent too. eventually 'one hopes'

:s_oops: oopsie.....

Re: The Accrington Observer PRAT.
Streets should not be renamed on a whim. There are costs and time involved in amended maps and map websites, and notifying all the people who you deal with for utilities and such.
It must give postmen and the ambulance service problems too. Should not be allowed!! |
Re: The Accrington Observer PRAT.
Must admit, couldn't quite make sense of the letter, I will be a little helper and re-type it for those who have not read it:-
PARADISE IS UNFORTUNATE Paradise Street is an unfortunate name for the new Accrington Pals Primary Health Care Centre. I think "Primary Health Care" could do withouth the "Primary" and "Care". How about with the Pals incorporation. Turner Street or Serre Street - the first a tribute to Bill Turner and the second a reminder of where the Pals Fell ?" Or perhaps even William Turner Street. Yours D. Pratt. Bit muddled to me. ? Still they did say they were short of letters due to the Postal Strike ... :D |
