£5 coins , anyone collect them

digging through my nightstand 'thingy' box (contains broken watches, collar stays, cuff links,tie-pins , loose foreign coins etc.) I came across a £5 coin dated 1999/2000, must have got it on my last visit to the UK ......anyway nowhere on the coin does it say what it commemorates, so after a bit of digging I found this site
British Coins: Type Collecting - 5 Pounds
seems it's a millenium £5 coin , but what surprised me was that the British mint has been issuing them annually since 1996 , wonder if anyone is collecting them and has the full set for passing down to their children or grand-children

This has obviously passed me by, I never even knew of any £5 coins having been minted.

I collect £1, £2, AND £5 coins.

I also collect notes of any denomination and I'm not fussy about where they come from, anyone wishing to donate to my collection can P.M. me for the address I would like you to send them to!

We have no £5 coins but we have some Crowns minted for things like Charles' wedding to Diana and the queen's silver jubilee, which is odd as they were no longer in use by then. I don't think they're worth much but then I didn't think my younger daughter's Natwest pig money box family was worth anything and, apparently, the full set (which she has) is worth about £200 now. She opened a Natwest account just to get the pigs and closed it when she'd got them all. :D

My nieces did that, don't know if they got them all but would be very surprised if they didn't. They were a good investment:D
