Re: Why are police blocking...

When I was coming off the motorway at that time there was an ambulance with police escort going on the slip road towards Blackburn, presumably from the accident.

Re: Why are police blocking...

I have often seen young people jump the roadside railings and 'play chicken' across that road - senselessly stupid - perhaps fewer will do it when word of this lad's plight gets around. I am sorry for the driver who will have shock and a damaged car - no sympathy for the boy.

Re: Why are police blocking...

Tend to agree with that Margaret they should have more sense at that age. I also feel sorry for the driver.

Re: Why are police blocking...

If i was the driver id be sueing for damage to my car! As before no sympathy for the little git!

but stupid thing is they know that there's kids crossin there - the council and police that is. even when i was a kid comin down from moorhead i would cross the road nad jump the railings. its what kids do. there shud b some sort of pelican crossing at least or a traffic island.

but yeah the kid deserved it he's a plank anyway.

I think it said in the paper he was only 100 yards away from a pelican crossing?? Not swearing on it, but I'm sure that is what it said.

There is a pelican crossing at Asda and one at the bottom of Owd Bobs he should have been using one of these. Can you imagine the reaction of drivers if they put another crossing on that stretch of road? The kids should use the crossings!!

Re: Why are police blocking...

He was crossing where the railings are specifically to stop people from crossing. I feel sorry for him getting hurt but I feel more sorry for the poor driver. The lad should not have been crossing there.
