Nothing like being prepared is there.
I have just made my Christmas Cake, I suppose, seeing as its Bonfire Night, I should have been making Parkin and Treacle Toffee. I am now sat down having a mug of tea and trying tio find out if anywhere have Nintendo Wii's in stock at a sensible price. |

Re: what am i doing !!!
I also bought all my Christmas cards (and quite a few presents) in the January sale. I don't really enjoy having to write out the envelopes though, but a few years ago I decided to teach myself to use Microsoft Access - and compiled a list of all the addresses for my Christmas Cards. So now I print off all the labels, write a greeting in the card, and stick a label on to the envelope.

Re: what am i doing !!!
If I could rely on my printer I'd do the same. I hate writing envelopes too.

Re: what am i doing !!!
I stopped sending Christmas cards in 1964 -- when I decided I wasn't a christian.
I have survived since :D --- try it. You may well find as I did that some people express gratitude that you can be struck off their card list -- and they remain your friends. They are a victorian invention .....along with those messy trees that you drag indoors every year :D |
Re: what am i doing !!!
Im going to have to sit down and work out what im buying everyone for xmas and write my cards. Seeing as i have a lot for posting all the ones in ireland to send. The local ones i just write in merry xmas and happy new year from jen and stick them in the envelopes and walk round sticking them through the door - its easier than writing their names on. First of all though im going to have to find the address book with all the addresses of them all in ireland.

Re: what am i doing !!!
ive been writing my christmas cards out tonight and wrapping some presents up it makes it easier than having to wrap loads of gifts up all at once nearer christmas.

Re: what am i doing !!!
I was thinking about this during the early hours the other morning. Why do we bother to send them? I've never come across one person who enjoys doing it.
BUT........I do enjoy receiving them, especially living abroad. Mine are sitting on top of my printer and I'll be writing them during the next few days. Have to get them posted early. |
Re: what am i doing !!!
Speaking of the Guy Fawke Day, I had built a huge pile of brush to burnm for Annie's 18th birthday (Nov. 2). Due to severe drought there's a burning ban on. I was at least hoping for a bit of rain so I could light it up today to join in the November 5th festivities over there!:(:(:(
