What puzzles me - and a lot of things do lately - is how do they know that it is a gas planet and has a mild temperature? If it's 41 years away, how have they found that out? No one's been there, it might just LOOK like a gas planet but surely they don't actually know for a fact that it is, do they?

There are instruments they can use im sure to test all this. But what they are seeing is still 41 years old as the lights takes that long to reach us.

Its all to do with the spectrum of light that it emits. I did some astonomy at A level Physics, It is actually really interesting.
