Was it not in the Observer how they were banning a lot of the old customers? I have read something recently and as we know the bad uns don't give in that easily!!!

what ever happened to the pubwatch idea
these yobs just make it hard work for decent couples
to go out for a drink no wonder we stay at home more nowadays

BERNADETTE 26-11-2007 12:52

Re: 5 Arrested in ossy.

Pubwatch is a good idea but yobs like this have no regard for a rule that says they can't go in. If they can't get a drink their response as we have seen is to smash the place up. And yes your right Beechy this sort of behaviour does deter people from going out. At least you can have a drink and know your safe at home plus it is cheaper.

Can't see it being the ones off the site as they generally have respect for other people. Maybe the ones from down Church or may not be travellers at all.

Re: 5 Arrested in ossy.

i know a few travellers and they are usually ok with you if you are ok with them.. in the area i was in the druggys kept away when the travellers were about...

Re: 5 Arrested in ossy.

The problem with the pub watch is some of them are so violent that if you are on a quiet night with just one person on it is hard to enforce. Believe me I always said they would get a drink then I would ring the police. No way was I going to risk getting glassed and knew half of them that were on the scheme wouldn't think twice!!!!

New Brewery in Accrington that one is shut now but was a brilliant pub when I worked there. Then I worked at Rishton Con Club.

All too common, 2 of my sons were out in Rawtenstall at weekend (where there mum lives), a group of lads from the army spent all night trying to start a fight, and ended up starting with my lad outside, got themselves locked up, which I have to say, makes a change!

You can't stop people like that Cashy, they just do what they want as this has proved:(

Re: 5 Arrested in ossy.

This smacks of thuggery tactics by the brewery, if the landlord is a security firm owner, and the police haven't been called, the chances are they take part of the law into thier own hands, why else would the normal thugs stop going in? not because a new landlord says so, i'll bet.

cashman 26-11-2007 19:17

Re: 5 Arrested in ossy.

the upshot of all this will probably be = dont do it again please, our jails are full, leaving the landlord n the police as sick as parrots, and the thugs laughing with their new badge of honour.

And the difference between the thugs breaking the law and anybody else doing it is?

Well i think the pub trade is going down in a lot of pub,s because of this sort of thing and this is why there is a lot of people are drinking at home i realy can,t blame them.
