Sad News
 

Just to let you all know that Ian passed away at two fifteen this morning. He fought really hard but unfortunately he had no chance against the cancer. I know he loved his time on Accyweb and hope you enjoyed his company. As of yet no arrangements have been sorted but when we have the details will post on here. Everyone will be welcome if they wish to attend.

I would like to say thanks for all of the kind words that are bringing me great comfort. It makes me feel so proud to have been married to a man who was obviously so well liked. I know that one of Ians sons has been reading the forum as well and is also happy that people thought so highly of his dad.
I am so glad that we had the party for him and that he got his cake. A special thanks once again to Mick who is now making extra discs with photos of the party on. Everyone who has visited has watched them with tears in their eyes but I am sure that in years to come we will all look back at them with just fond memories!!!
Last but not least I am going to advice quite a few of Ian's family to make themselves members of Accyweb because I am sure that if they could read all your comments they would be gratified at the esteem you have all given to Ian.

Got the sad news by telephone this afternoon from Mez. It was quite shocking as I had been trading pms with Ian up to 2 days ago. I was so looking forward to next week sitting with him again for a bit, even if he couldn't take me again to his various Pubs.

Heck, even sent him an email this morning . . Sorry for a babblebit but want to share and joke and do whatever to aid me with my saddness! Well maybe tomorrow. It's hard being so far away.

So, So sorry Bernie and family for your loss (and ours). Loved the little (but thoughtful) chats in the Canine and allotment - always a fountain of everything. Ian's a marvellous fellow and will be missed by us. My dad's in hospital again and doesn't know yet. I don't know when to let him know as he's not too strong. Going in Wednesday to see him. Got to also say that I'm glad he managed to have a lovely birthday party even though his birthday wasn't for another two days yet. He looks lovely on his picture blowing out the candles on that big cake and its nice to know he would have had his family and friends around him and that happy memory to pass away with.

I am Donna Ian's cousin from Doncaster, earlier today Bernie sent me the link to your forum so i could read all your post. Can i just say that Uncle Ian was a fantastic man and was always there for us if we needed him i am so glad that i went to see him at home not that long ago and that he will be sadly missed by us all.......

I would like to thanks each and everyone of you for your posts you have put on and i'm so glad that some of you had chance to meet him and the rest had some good chat's on this forum with him.

Bernadette we send our love to you and the rest of the family from Doncaster and will see you all next week.

Once again thanks to you all for your posts and i know that it will help Bernadette and the family at this moment in time.

Thanks for that Donna. The funeral has now been arranged, we are having a service at the Crematorium Chapel at one forty next Wednesday prior to burial at Dill Hall Cemetery. We are going back to The Canine Club afterwards. Anybody who wishes to attend is more than welcome.

Bernie, ive been in the Canine tonight and only just found out the sad sad news. I loved Ian to bits and was one of my favourite customers when i worked at the Canine. I dont come on here much and feel so guilty now that i hadnt known sooner. Im sendin a big hug and a kiss. x

No Willow there is no chapel at Dill Hall( not nowadays) The chapel is at Burnley Road but the burial is at Dill Hall.

I've only just received a pm, letting me know of this sad news. I popped into the chatroom last night, and typically you asked me about my holiday, rather than want to break the sad news.

Ianto and myself became mates after some hilarious late night bickerings. We may have had a few disagreements about trivial things, but deep down we had a great deal of respect for each other. He was a good man, and I, like many, will miss him.

My condolences to all his family and friends, but especially to Bernie, who was kind enough to keep me informed about how Ian was when the treatment made him to unwell to post on here.

As I don't get on AccyWeb too often these days, I was unaware of this very sad news until today, when I received a pm from LYY, recently returned from England.

I will definitely miss Ian's contributions to the site. He was so humorous. When I first joined AccyWeb, he gave me the business.....but a little later on decided that I wasn't so bad after all and we enjoyed the occasional pm to boot. From the phrasing of some of his more recent pm's, I got the distinct impression that he knew his number was about to be called but he was very philosophical about it all. God bless him.
