So expensive
I dont have any girls to buy for this christmas but was browsing a catalogue and came across 'baby born' and 'baby annabell' dolls and accessories.......
omg they are SO expensive and some of the accessories are weird...baby annabell has a car she can go for a drive in  How much for the car?75 blinkin quid:eek: you get a doll and the car that has lights plus engine and horn sounds and a pull along cord.....wow wee. Other examples-horse riding baby born-riding outfit £20(jacks outfits cost that),stable (hinged door, roof and food tray-whoa getting good now:rolleyes:) £30,then horse seperately costs £25!!!!!plus obviously before that you need to have bought the ££35 doll. All i can say is anyone that buys this stuff and supports 'Zapf creation' needs their head seeing too.....or their bank account emptying into mine. |
Re: So expensive

Re: So expensive
WE struggled with this when Annie was young. They were called "American Girl Dolls." They, along, with the accessories were ~$100 back then. It was, "but this friend or that friend had them yadda yadda". "Why can't we afford it?"
It was a good lesson in "not keeping up with the Jones's." She couldn't understand that, because we don't buy this sort of stuff, we can afford it. While all these little kids are/were getting the latest and greatest, have parents who live pay check to pay check. Okay, as a 7 year old she didn't quite grasp it but now being 18, she has a much better understand of more proper money matters. Brian |
Re: So expensive
Why would a baby doll have a car?

Re: So expensive
Anything you can buy for a real baby you can buy for one of these baby Annabell / Baby born dolls.
There's nappies, changing stations, baby gyms, highchairs, car seats, prams, cot mobiles, the list goes on and as Miss Kitty says, they are all ridiculously expensive. More fool anyone who shells out for all this gubbins, I say. |
Re: So expensive
when my friends baby was born she was so tiny so fit into the baby doll clothed an they worked out cheaper than the premmie clothes...
