jeremy kyle show 2 part christian love

did any body watch jeremy kyle show yesterday and today about the christian kult in america.

apparently they think it is okay to have sex with children
the things they do and think make me feel sick
they are brain washing people to into joining there kult

let me know if any one else watched it and what they thought about it

I didn't see yesterdays but I saw todays and that David guy is such a control freak! He doesn't even see that he is.

Was yesterdays the FLDS guy, Warren Jeffs? He infuriates me by claiming to be Mormon and giving Mormons a bad name because people think we approve of things like that. If anyone in our church behaved in the way his people do they would be excommunicated.

Well I think I've heard of this cult before and if it is the one I'm thinking of then its the women who do it aswell. I read a while back of a young woman who had grown up in the cult and actually escaped and her story was in a magasine. Its quite weird, but what would be weirder would be actually speaking to the children, because if they dont know any different then it'd be strange to see how many accept it as the norm, though obviously some must realise its strange and like the woman I mentioned, escape from it all.

How interesting, i never knew that. I have a mormon friend called Mary. She's really lovely. I also stop to listen to the Elders in town, but they dont seem to do that in Lancaster.

She refers to Shloer as Mormon wine lol, she had it at her wedding but I was too ill to go so my boyfriend went without me. I think its an interesting religion.

She worked in Accrington but doesn't anymore, I forget the name of the place she used to live, and I havent spoken to her for a while. Rochdale comes to mind but that doesnt seem right, but she lived quite far out of accrington towards the rossendale area, if not passed it.

She has dark reddy coloured hair, married someone called Lee. Ring any bells?

The short answer is - yes.

The official name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, shortened often to LDS but we get the nickname Mormon. That is actually the name of a man. He is the one who compiled what we know as The Book of Mormon (hence the name of it) from other historical records.

For a while the church tried to distance itself from the name in order to emphasise that we worship Jesus Christ not Mormon but in the past couple of years our President has said it has led to some confusion with people thinking there are two separate organisations so he kind of re-adopted the nickname.

These other groups such as the FLDS also have the Book of Mormon as scripture. There are several such splinter groups but not all are as controversial. None of them have any affiliation with the official LDS church which has headquarters based in Salt Lake City.

P.S. Mormon lived several hundred years ago on the American continent and the abridged version of scriptural and historical records which he wrote was translated by Joseph Smith Jnr.

Joseph Smith was the first prophet of our church in what we refer to as 'this dispensation' meaning this time period. So yes, we do follow his teachings and those of other prophets and leaders. We have the Bible as well as the Book of Mormon and this year we've been studying the New Testament in the adult Sunday School classes.

ahh, if i remeber rightly, he was visited by an angel(gabriel?) in his bedroom and told that he would be visited and shown to a place where he would find something.. he was visited again and shown to the place and he felt calm and believed? i am trying to remember more, but i may be wrong completely....

That's close. It wasn't Gabriel though. It was Moroni. We have a statue of him on top of our Temple near Chorley.

I have just been watching the jeremy kyle show which i taped,,,That David chap and his female companion gave me the creeps, They never gave a straight answer ,and I dont know what he asked Jeremy Kyle about his wife ,but he was furious,,,,The cult reminds me of The Moonies which were going in the 60,s,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:eek:
