never heard of reindeer dust before, sounds a bit odd to me to stand outside scattering oats and glitter, the neighbours will be having you sectioned before xmas is over.

People do things like that for their kids though - it's magic.

I'd just find it a little bit odd if i went to my front door and saw the neighbours scattering 'dust' everywhere. I like the magic of xmas but the dust thing is just a little bit too much for me lol, though I imagine it would be good to watch Return to Oz the next day or a few days before becaue the moose/couch thing gets sprinkled with magic dust to make him fly doesnt he, and when houses dont have chimneys parents tell their children that santa came through the letter box with magic dust dont they?

I'm with Margaret on this one. I've never heard of anybody doing this.

I wouldn't waste the porridge either and have never done it because I'd never heard of it but I think it's cute and the glitter sounds like a nice idea.

Does anybody remember 'oofle dust'?

My youngest is 3 and we do it, he loves it. It's just something else to get them involved in. Sprinkle it outside just b4 bedtime on Christmas Eve.
With young kids, while they still believe, it's nice to give them a touch of magic:)
