It was peacefull last new years day too, hence the wildlife coming out to play ...... just remember not to try and swerve to avoid one if the need arises ....run the booger over.

Re: The motorway god showed me the promised land...
I drove back from my cousin's tonight and thought exactly the same thing.
No loonies, no boy racers, no 4x4's, no mums double parked outside the schools. It was like driving twenty five years ago, when I first passed my test. Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday.:) |

Re: The motorway god showed me the promised land...
i honestly thought wow this is like when they show the b&w clips of those newly built motorways back in the 60's... though the 2nd lane hoggers were still out in force...

Re: The motorway god showed me the promised land...
We haven't been out on the road today - we've got a car with a poorly wheel. It got a puncture on Christmas Eve after everywhere had closed so we've just got the emergency tyre on which got us home. We wonder if there will be anywhere open tomorrow where we can get a tyre fixed.

that wud've been awesome steel jack
but can u imagine it now? still must've been a sight to see those planes land yards away from u... the observation place at manc airport isnt that good |
Re: The motorway god showed me the promised land...
I enjoyed my drive to work this morning, as you say, almost empty roads.
Depending on which way the planes are coming in there is a road you can stand on and they are about 30 foot above you. I went there taking piccys one day. I can't remember how I got there, I think I headed off teh motorway and carried straight on through |
