Tragic event both for the people of Pakistan and for Democracy. When will people learn that nothing can be gained by this kind of action, many lives lost already and no doubt many more will follow on both sides...

Wonder if they are still going to hold the elections now that one of the principal campaigners has been killed? She only went back in October and she knew then that she was probably living on borrowed time she knew she was a target for the extremists but she still went back.

But what about all the other people who were killed with her? No doubt there will be riots and many more lifes lost in the wake of this!!!

It will be interesting to see who/which of the 'world' leaders will turn up for her funeral/memorial service. Since she was an ex-Prime Minister maybe it would be fitting for the UK to send Margaret Thatcher :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Sure, there are some there mouthing the democratic platitudes; but it is all smoke and mirrors; no substance. And what is at the root of many, maybe most, of the world's major active conflicts at the moment ... Islamic extremism. It's the new plague. And Pakistan right now: Darwin's waiting room. Meanwhile Western leaders talk to these people as if they are open to reason and reasonable argument ... people who go to the reasonable extreme of strapping explosives to themselves and blow up innocent people in order to get a quick trip to see Mohamed. In the Islamic world, the inmates have taken over the assylum:(

it was obvious it would happen sooner or later especially since she refused the level of security she was being recomended.

her coming to power wudnt have changed a thing. the only thing its going to do is get people even more against the govt in pakistan.

as someone said on 5live civil war is a few decisions away.
