Bring the kids but you only get 2 drinks !

Are they imposing on their customers or is it just common sense ?
Will it effect you ?

I have wondered a few times about different rules brought out by wetherspoons, first with no smoking, no music, no pool or darts etc, but they must have something right, 683 pubs take some keeping, if they got it wrong, they would be out of business very quickly.

Personally I think pubs are for adults, but then, when I think of a pub I get a mental picture of some of the older pubs around town not the eating houses.

my thought entirely, ya can,t have a smoke in a pub, but ya can have some unruly brat flying round causing havoc. eating places are completely differant.;)

I totally agree with Wetherspoons, pubs are no place for children and adults drinking in charge of children in the pubs is wrong. Its different in your own house were there aren't the same dangers, having a couple of drinks while your kids are in bed. I've taken my children into pubs for food that are geared up for children but I dont even like doing that.

It won't affect me but I applaud the idea wholeheartedly.

I know some small children who are dragged round the town centre pubs all day on Daddy's day off, (not suggesting that it's only men who do this of course, I'm sure there are some female offenders too, it's just that the people I know who do it are dads.) It's very wrong and totally selfish. What fun can it be for the children?

Not that they're bothered about that, the selfish swines.

I saw this on the news tonight as there was a man fuming about it, he was in a party of quite a few adults and 1 child, the mother of the child wasn't drinking at all but all the adults were told they could only have two drinks each

I dont think it should affect anybody other than the parents of the child, I dont know why people want to take their children into the pubs, I love going out to the pubs but not with the kids.

I thought it was only applicable to the parents. I can see why he was fuming

They had gone in to have a meal and a few drinks but as I said all the adults were told they could only have 2 drinks even when the mother stated she wasn't drinking at all

Maybe it's not an option for some people if they want to go out for something decent to eat without having to put up with stuff like McDonalds/KFC etc

agree pubs are no places for children but it sounds like a step back to the old days when the tykes were plonked down on the pub doorstep with a bag of crisps and a bottle of pop and told to behave otherwize they would get a wizzer ,

Point taken, but if they're there for the food they don't have to get bladdered aswell do they?

Have the meal and a couple of drinks and then leave.
