just been listening to people on the news and in adverts pronouncing lancashire;lancashere what kind of accent is that is it a made up accent that the middle class broadcaster thinks it sound good:confused::D

are you a lancashire ?

Although when people asked in London where I originally came from, they thought I'd replied Leicestershire!:confused::eek::D

I don't think the poll is acurate.

The options are
Lancashire, with the end supposedly pronounced shire,
or
Lancashere, which makes it look as if it's pronounced sheer, as in stockings, or Shere Khan from the Jungle Book.:D
