It might be less expensive for you to pay the £500 and fix it yourself. If they write it off you will loose the £2k you spent on the lpg. If you buy another car that will be another £2k for an lpg install unless you decide to stick with a standard diesel car. I would have thought your cars value would have been higher due to the lpg. I suppose the lpg will have paid for itself in the couple of years you have had the car.

Its paid for itself and some over teh 80K miles its done (25-30K is usual payback time but teh point is the car is nowhere near ready for scrap. They talk about green this and that and there is nothing more green than eeking every last mile out of cars like mine. 90% of emmissions a car produces during its end to end life are in manufacture and decomissioning.
