New Plans for Cannon Street Baptist church

Plans have been given the go ahead for conversion of the old Cannon Street Baptist church building to apartments despite opposition from The Victorian Society.

Who are the Victorian Society?

I'm a little puzzled by their reasoning here:

I remember the interior being completely restructured during my life time so it's hardly original is it?
