I've just read on Sky News that 28 year old Hollywood actor Heath Ledger has been found dead in his apartment.

RIP Heath. :(

Last night an insider disclosed that the Brokeback Mountain star had been battling substance abuse problems for some time.

"He had a stint in rehab late last year when he was treated for heroin," the source told The Daily Mail, adding that Ledger was increasingly introverted at the time of his death

first reports are saying he was found in his bed and prescription meds were laying around , good actor , best work in my opinion was in the small budget indie movies

He was on sleeping medication, was struggling with sleep since starting his role as the joker. Said two tablets only kept him asleep for an hour. Could very easily have been an accident, will have to wait and see.

I dont think they're going to record his death as a suicide.

I didn't even realise who he was, I have only seen him in Brothers Grimm.

Report I read said he OD'd on sleeping tablets. What a sad waste of a life. :(

Well if you read about him he avoided those types of films, he picked his roles specifically and went for ones that where quite a bit deeper and more of a risk.

He didn't want that kind of image.

Apparently his role as Joker is played amazingly, much darker than the original one. He also has a film due to be released as a poet with a heroin addiction, which people have already said will be eerie considering his death now.

He has to still work, you know to pay for the roof over his head and food. His family even used to nag him to just accept roles because he'd sit around so long waiting for the right ones, as most of the films he got offered where teen flicks and he was labelled 'a pretty boy' and he didnt want that.

You can read about him all over the internet, particularly right now. I wondered why I hadn't seen him in much so I did the research to see why.

He acted in the roles he didnt like when the roles he wanted werent there and he had no other way of financing his life. He hasn't been in many films at all considering the time he's been acting.

You can read about him, it says it all over the internet. Its hardly a secret. Why do you think he wasn't in more films like 10 things I hate about you? He was offered loads of parts in similar films.

I dont need to explain why I think he'd prefer to be remembered for Brokeback mountain where he played a 'high-risk' role rather than a pretty boy film like 10 things i hate about you.

Well if he liked doing them or not, he was still bloody good in them. The bits that i've seen of his portrail of The Joker are amazing!

I think his general attitude towards acting makes it look like he was in it more for his passion of the job rather than the money.

And if this IS a suicide, which I personally doubt, it would show that money doesn't buy happiness.

The reports I read said that he was having trouble sleeping and that he complained that a sleeping pill only gave him an hours sleep - looks like an accidental overdose to me.

Yeh thats what I said earlier. I think thats more likely than anything else, given the fact that there was nothing obvious to indicate he'd killed himself like a note.

Post-mortem results on Hollywood star Heath Ledger have proved inconclusive.
further tests are needed and could take around ten days.
