Driving Test Scam

Anyone seen this in todays LET

The 1m Driving Test Fraud (from Lancashire Telegraph)

If i write what i really feel i'd probably be banned and called racist. It makes my blood boil, and the sentences they've received is laughable. Wonder if they'll be able to find out whose got the dodgy licenses, if so they should be banned from driving. Also wonder how many are now driving as taxi drivers!!!!!!!

Yep understand that Sara, makes my blood boil too - especially when they fail or take points off for really minor minor things being really silly on some peoples tests in order to fail them then allow some numpty to pass so easily to get their licence, in order the Driving test centre doesn't look too dodgy on pass rates:mad:

Failed mine a few times the latter times had very pedantic X army test examiner [i had no chance hehehehe] - so gave up on hope that i could ever drive to that pristine standard & it annoys the pants of my when i see quite a lot of idiots that are allowed to drive badly so very badly legally, im forever shouting at them for the basics of driving which they clearly didnt pay attention at & shouldnt be on the roads & they are the type of people you are on about Sara ;).

I first heard of it in the eighties. It had gone up to £100 pounds by then. :)

What pathetic sentances and fines. A £1 million scam and he was fined almost nothing. I would have thought all those who took tests illegally should be jailed.

The only thing that suprises me is that anyone is suprised with the activities and the sentences.

You forget to pay one months council tax and see how quick they jump on you. The justice system in this country is laughable.

Re: Driving Test Scam

It hasn't just been asians doing this, the main reason for photo licenses was to stop people taking tests for others, I have heard it before since about 1985, it is the usual complacency of the government allowing it to continue, and then giving paltry sentences when they do catch up, eventually.

wish someone had took my driving test for me - it might not have took me so long to pass then but then again maybe i'd still be waiting knowing my luck id find someone to fail!!!

yes they should be jailed, you cant put other peoples life at risk

do the government not take your assets if your caught for fraud, £1m is alot and only a small fine, anyone who commits fraud should have to pay it back to whoever they defrauded

Joke, pure and simple.
Funny though I seem to remember that a woman who defrauded the govt out of fuel rebate duty to run a bus company in Blackburn for half a million or so got 3 years. I do believe they got that back off her as well. No how many people did she put at risk????? Then again she was english.

Someone told me in the last few weeks that you have to re-take your driving test when you are 70 - I hope its not true (mine does say "valid until age 70") - if it is true, please can I book one of you to take it for me - I don't have a hope in hell! Please form an orderly line and no pushing (non-white ethnic minorities only need apply).
