Now im too young to go and test it out so i will have to leave it to the older members of accyweb to go and have a look see. From what i saw on the news though its gym equipment but for outside. |

Re: Pensioners Park
It looks like fun. Can we persuade PB to incorporate one in the Masterplan for Accy?
|

Re: Pensioners Park
It looks brilliant, should have one around here and let the 40+ go on.
|
Re: Pensioners Park
its a good idea, but like wynonie says, it will probably get trashed:(
|
Re: Pensioners Park
I didn't think people bothered trashing parks anymore, haven't seen a recked one for ages. Rhyddings childrens park is still intact from being refurbished isnt it?

Actually, I think it is great . am sure it will catch on, and we will be seeing them Nationwide soon. The equipment was not too dangerous and did not appear to entail a high risk threat of accidents ... roll on I say (no, not roll off). :mosher: |

Re: Pensioners Park
Don't we have our priorities a little mixed up here? Taxpayers money has been thrown away on this caper, while at the same time far more taxpayers money is being used to pay for OAPs freebies on public transport throughout the country. Surely the simple and cost effective solution is to stop this ludicrous subsidy and make pensioners pay for their fares like everyone else, or walk and get the exercise they need without resort to costly gimmicks like this.

It is good as it that encourage us Pensioners to take extra exercise, particularly of this type, because it does strengthen the bones, and therefore makes you less likely of fractures, therefore saving the NHS money. Get it ? |
Re: Pensioners Park
KNICKERS, strengthen the bones, break em n sue will be the order of the day.

OK .. would you sue if it were a child on their playground ? No.. just accidents ... unless the equipment was faulty. Broke one or two bones/busted noses down Higham's Playing Fields when I was younger .. sure they have covered all aspects of this, including 'at your own risk' .. Gawd, you lot so cynical and negative  |
Re: Pensioners Park
Provided the equipment isn't faulty if someone fell off they wouldn't have a leg to stand on trying to sue the council.

Was it the pink National Health specs, with the one lens plastered over? The dew drop off the end of her nose? The constanly oozing scab on her knee? God, you were fussy. :D |

Re: Pensioners Park
Playgrounds for the elderly are the councils way of freeing up much needed housing space in care homes and the like (so don't knock it)

If anyone is concerned about their elderly relatives breaking a hip on the equipment then you'll simply have to take them yourself then wont you!? |
