I think I'm doing my bit
In his age people are always being told to cut back and think about the future, well I think I'm doing my bit:D I have had the Telegraph delivered for many years, but I have now cancelled it. Why pay 38p a day for a paper when you can read it on line, an also comment on articles. I found myself going on the web site and having a good toot, then when I got the paper I had already read the thing, so I'm better off and probably saving a tree as well:thumbsup:

Oh my goodness!, how do you expect schoolkids to earn a living if you start cancelling their paper rounds! And just think what a lilly livered buch we we get when they don't have to get up and walk teh streets at 7am on a cold wet frosty morning.
Your not helping mate! :D |

I also read the telegraph online, but i dont live in lancashire so i cant get it delivered, the only problem is that you cant get all the news from the online telegraph as you do if you buy the paper. I started to do my bit when my hubby changed his job, he now works just round the corner from tesco, so like it or lump it he has to do the shopping, only downfall is that he always forgets something  |
Re: I think I'm doing my bit
I never buy the telegraph, its always mainly about darwen anyway:huh8:, but like yerselfs read it online.
Also like to read the observer online too, but everything in the paper is not online, so im afraid i have to buy it, but i do buy recycled loo roll:D:rolleyz8: |

Re: I think I'm doing my bit
i read most newspapers online but buy the times AND read it online. I refuse to use my dishwasher too so that saves some energy I guess. I bu fresh unpackaged fruit and vegetables and meat from the butchers. Recycle all my plastics, tins, papers etc.
Students also have the least effect on the carbon emissions because they rarely fly and they often use public transport rather than owning a car. I learnt that on that programme where people lived on the dump for a while. I also have quick showers like they enforce on that other programme that used to be on where the lived in a hut for a week and then they did stuff to the families house to help save energy, like having an alarm hooked to the shower to say when 3 minutes was up. I dont own a telly or cd player so i dont have them to leave on standby either. I'd say the worse thing I do is have my laptop on 24/7, and i'm not exactly sure how much energy that uses... So I'd say i'm probably pretty eco-friendly. |
