Accyweb come good

Just thought that I had to say something really positive that has come out of being a member on this site.

Been a member for almost 3 years and with attending meets have got to know quite a few on here... but wanted to say a special thanks to one member in particular

SPARKOLOGIST..yes he will prob hate me for doing this but ..

thanks to him, my son gained a work placement at his workplace... learning how an engineering firm works and all things electrical.

Well he had a fantastic two weeks and learnt an awful lot including from you sparks :D and made the decision that electrical was his future (was leaning that way anyway).

Well at the end of it he was given a very positive report back to school but also they have said when he has finished his GCSE's (will be doing them next year), grades allowing they will support his application for a place with training 2000 for one year with an option of an apprenticeship afterwards...how good is that :)

Oh I'm so proud :blush8::alright:

Anyone else have stories like this??

That's excellent, It's a credit to sparks and the workplace, but also your lad and the parenting he has behind him. well done to all.

It's good when they get some idea of career direction at that age, gives them a focus. Pleased for you and your son HR :)

Its a great feeling when you see your kids starting out in the big old world and forging a good life for themselves and not wanting to rely on you. If only all kids were like that, I'm sure life in genral would be better all round

Well in less than 2 weeks,I will get to meet SPARKS and LETTIE and as I have never knowingly ever met anyone from Accy, and with all the good things I've read about them and learned through their posts, I can't wait. Just hope our drought dosen't break while they are here in the Bay..

Two really lovely people Kiwi .. will be an encounter to remember.. :D

Well done HR to your son and Sparkologist's help.. as Lancsdave has already said, great feeling when your kids are focused on what they want at this age.
Only met one of your sons (the youngest ?) .. and would adopt him myself if I could.

Now, what I need is an Aerial Rigger for new system PCTV installed, and a Painter and Decorator for two bedrooms ... :D
