How come no one knew?

BBC NEWS | England | Bristol | Man dead for years found in flat

Wonder if the poor bloke had any family but to have someone living with his body for years and not reporting it. It does say he has mental health problems but surely someone should have noticed!

How can anyone live with that, are the council saying that they had not mad any repairs or serviced anything in that flat for 5 years!!! im sure someone had been in that flat and noticed a rotting corpse on the sofa, the smell must have been really bad, i doubt that he would have been dead for 5 years, if i was one of the neighbours i would have moved,

I dont understand how nobody would have noticed the smell, it would've been putrid. I cant think of any explanation for it.

I agree with you Nickelson, my first though was a smell after five years, I would have thought the smell would have all but gone after that length of time, plus the windows would have been full of flies within weeks of the death

Re: How come no one knew?

The smell would have came and went many years ago, don’t know why Social Services were unaware ( mind you I probably do know ) the Community Mental Health Team should have been aware of the circumstances of the bloke the dead chap was living with. The big let down for me is that the neighbours were apparently unaware. Must be a really close knit community eh

Perhaps there are circumstances that led the authorities to be unaware, but the neighbours, they should be ashamed in my book.
