Planning to stay at a travelodge...
but i'm a bit wary of their overbooking process. i know i'm goin to reach there late in the day so there is a chance they'll be over-booked
would i be able to have a say where i'd prefer a move to - i dont want to be moved futher away from where i need to go... there is one nearer but thats working out more expensive than one futher away |
Re: Planning to stay at a travelodge...
Is this the only place you can stay?
From the sound of it, you think they are likely to give your room away I know the prices are good and close to motorways and stuff, but that is no excuse for bad management and customer service Is there nothing else in the vicinity you could consider? |
Re: Planning to stay at a travelodge...
Have stayed at loads of Travelodges Mani, and never come across an overbooking problem.
Also have arrived extremely late at times ... after 10 o'clock .. but wouldn't let your room go even then I am sure. Usually you cannot cancel after a certain time, otherwise you lose your money. |
Re: Planning to stay at a travelodge...
there is another travelodge which is around £150 more expensive.
travelodge have a policy to overbook themselves knowing that some people wont b able to make it - if they do overbook then the unfortunate person will be moved to another one but as i'm already 30 mins away i dont want to be moved even futher away. there's a b&b that i've been recommended by the company but i've never stayed in one... i might have to give them a call |

That's terrible, in that case, I'd certainly be ringing that B&B

I've stayed at Traveloges all over the country and never found any problem, but I've never wanted to stay for more than one night at a time.

Which area is it ? Not all Travelodges are of the same standard .. especially the older ones which need refurbishment. I like them because nobody bothers you and, on departure, no queuing at reception. Problem is, not usually a restaurant and dependent on nearest pub, etc. Will serve continental breakfast however, but suppose in a Bed and Breakfast will get a decent first meal if that is what you want. I never wanted to be bothered with other people after a hard day's driving and you may come across this in a B & B. Lots of them now have 'spekd' up so could be really enjoyable for a long term stay. Holiday Express are a little more expensive, but usually have some sort of eating facility available in the evening, although more of cafe type. |
Re: Planning to stay at a travelodge...
near kidderminster - i did want to stay at the hartland one but the m5 one was coming up cheaper but it does look seedy
|
Re: Planning to stay at a travelodge...
The one at Hartlebury would be the better option really .. not as noisy, and will definitely be very modern .. as long as you can put up with a Little Chef everynight. The nearest Holiday Express is Droitwich, and ... they charge you for parking !!
Don't know what type of person you are Mani, but if you enjoy a little mothering then a B & B probably the best option .. just have to google a little, for example, look at the Garden Cottage on this site .. sounds lovely :- Garden Cottages, Worcester - GBStay Could probably get a good deal too for 12 nights. |
Re: Planning to stay at a travelodge...
