:egged:and yes another shop to shut its doors on accrington,
THE WORKS, on broadway is to close its doors on the 16th so i was told today, what the hell is going on in accy,
the home bargin shop ,-frasers travel, ect.

noticed that this morning, went inside to have a nosy, to see if i could get a bargin.....could I?...could i buggery...just rubbish
Anyway as for the shop shutting, im not surprised maybe they gonna knock all that block down and build the 'expansion' on the arndale:eek:...............

Nothing specific to Accrington, the company was put in to administration on 31st January

They have an outlet in Ossy Mills too, the last time I bought a book there I had to take it back - there were pages missing!

At the moment they are trying to sell the business but have taken the decison in the interim to close 85 stores. Can't find a list of the 85 though.

Personally i think its a shame.
I bought a lot of books from there,very good prices,never had a problem with anything i bought there,it was a great place to buy gifts.

Does no one else find it ironic that teh cheap book shop that finally nailed the coffin lid on the best bookshop Accy ever had(Wardleworths) has fallen by the wayside? Karma at its best IMHO

Im going to have to stock up on acrylic paint from there then. It was handy that shop especially after wardleworths shut down. I didnt get many books from there it was more craft stuff that i got from there.
